This is an opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of people who are feeling lonely and socially isolated. You will be supporting people to attend enjoyable groups and activities.
‘We continue to hold the Kitemark Plus status, awarded by Rotherham Together Partnership and Voluntary Action Rotherham. This is in recognition of the excellent systems and support in place for volunteers’.
You will also be supporting people to do things that increase self-confidence, such as shopping or going for a coffee. You will be supported by a paid member of staff who will carry out an initial assessment of needs, and a risk assessment. We are looking for volunteers who have a genuine desire to help disabled people, and people living with long-term health conditions.
You must be reliable and punctual, friendly and patient and be able to encourage and motivate people. You must also be able to travel independently in your local area.
The above roles will require a satisfactory DBS check and two references. Agreed out-of-pocket expenses will be paid.
