Benefits Advice & Information

Our client is in her 50s in a St Leger Property and on permanent sick leave. She lives alone and is quite isolated.

She has rheumatism in her hands, back and legs, going through menopause which has caused her a lot of stress but hopefully it will calm down as she has started HRT.

A Social Prescriber referred her for support in obtaining a blue badge and to look at her benefits and see if she is entitled to anything else. She claims PIP but only gets the standard rates and she needed the enhanced mobility rate to get the blue badge.

She needed help filling in the Work Capability Assessment form for Universal Credit as she struggles to fill in forms. She is not capable of work and was very stressed.

Our Benefits Advisor referred the client to Active Independence to look at appealing her PIP in order to acquire the blue badge.

Our advisor helped the client fill in the Work Capability Form and sent it off on her behalf. The client was happy that the form had been sent off and it gave her the confidence to speak to her GP so he can speak with DWP about her Universal Credit payments.

Our client was thankful for the support and felt confident getting in touch with me again if she needed any further help.

I really enjoyed trying out something different for a change and having some ‘me time’. Jackie (member of staff) introduced this client to a Pottery Class and she appreciated it a lot!
